entranced in something, that the surroundings recede and you become in a trance state. Think of times when you have
been engrossed in a book, music or film; many of us can relate to driving along a road and all of a sudden finding that we
have driven quite a distance without being consciously aware of how far we have come. However we had clearly driven
quite
safely and unconsciously and if something had happened which required
us to react we would have, possibly more effectively and instinctively
than we would normally have done - that's an altered state. Another
example is going up in a
lift; we tend to "go on hold" and watch the floor numbers as they go by. In fact how many of us have walked out when
the door opens only to find we're on the wrong floor?
to external things and more attention to inner subjective sensations and to the hypnotherapist's voice which will, through suggestions, guide you to make the more beneficial behavioural changes you desire.
How much control will I have?
lose control and thereby enable the hypnotherapist to exert his or her will over them. That was certainly how I used to
feel. However as I soon found out, hypnotherapists do not have the power to control your mind. Hypnosis is a form of
self hypnosis which requires your cooperation, with the hypnotherapist functioning as a facilitator guiding you into
accessing your unconscious mind. You are always in control and cannot be made to do or say anything against your will,
particularly if it is at odds with your morals and/or values and you can open your eyes at any time.
If you feel hypnosis would be beneficial but still have some concerns, why not come to one of our free taster evenings.
It is a great way to experience the benefits of hypnosis and you can also chat to me & others there and ask any questions
you may have.
What can Hypnosis help with?
Hypnosis has been, can be and continues to be used to help endless problems and issues too numerous to list here,
although the list on the right-hand side of this page gives a sample. Used in conjunction with NLP it is a powerful tool
which can help make positive, meaningful and lasting change in your life and behaviours.
How many sessions will be required?
This will depend on individual circumstances. Some problems will only require one visit, while others may require 2-3 sessions.
The first session takes two hours with any follow-up sessions usually being of one hour's duration.
